Jakarta Transportation Agency is collaborating with PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) to evaluate the occurrence of Transjakarta bus accidents in the capital.
Syafrin Liputo, Agency Head of Jakarta Transportation disclosed, along January-October 2021, there had been 275 accidents, either single accidents or involving other drivers.

He explained, Transjakarta driver's working hours have been regulated according to Law number 22/2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation.
"According to the policy, driver's working hours are set to a maximum of eight hours per day, including rest periods. We're planning, at the last stop the driver can take a short break before returning to duty," he explained.
PT Transjakarta President Director, Mochammad Yana Adiya added, the evaluation step that had been done was to involve the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT).
"We evaluate it thoroughly in order to get a complete picture from the side of the driver and the corridor until its bus feasibility," he explained.
Jakarta DPRD's Commission B Member, Adi Kurnia Setiadi asserted, total evaluation was a must to prevent accidents involving Transjakarta buses.
"I want the public to have more confidence, feel safe and comfortable when using public transportation. This is because, it is one of our mainstays to overcome congestion and improve air quality in Jakarta," he stated.
